How rebates and discounts work, what determines the amount you actually receive, and where the figures on this site come from.

Rebate and discount disclaimer

Rebate and discount amounts shown on this website are indicative only and are subject to eligibility, applicable government program requirements, product availability, installation requirements and approval by the relevant accredited provider or program administrator.

NRGPal does not guarantee that a customer will receive a particular rebate, discount or savings amount. The final rebate or discount will be confirmed in the quotation and applicable program documentation before installation.

Government programs, eligibility criteria and rebate amounts may change without notice. Customers should review current information provided by the relevant government program administrator.

Solar panel (PV) — Solar Victoria Solar Homes

Eligible Victorian households may qualify for a rebate of up to $1,400 towards the cost of installing a solar panel (PV) system. The amount is the lesser of 50% of the eligible cost and the program maximum, so most households receive less than the maximum.

Solar Victoria sets the eligibility criteria. At the date of verification below, an applicant must meet all of the following.

• The property is located in Victoria.
• The applicant is the owner-occupier of an existing property, or the owner of a home under construction.
• Combined household taxable income is less than $150,000 per year.
• The property value is under $3 million.
• The property address has not previously received a solar panel (PV) or solar battery rebate under this program.
• The property address has not had a solar panel (PV) system installed in the last 10 years.
• The installation uses an authorised solar retailer and eligible products.

Rebates are released in batches rather than being continuously available. Eligibility is assessed by Solar Victoria, not by NRGPAL.

Solar batteries

The Victorian Solar Homes interest-free battery loan is closed to new applications. Solar Victoria is no longer accepting applications for it, and NRGPAL does not present it as an available incentive.

Battery incentives are now handled through the Commonwealth Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which opened on 1 July 2025 and is administered through the Clean Energy Regulator. Because the amount depends on the installed system and the certificate value at the time of installation, NRGPAL does not publish a battery figure on this site. We assess your eligibility and confirm the applicable amount in your written quotation.

Heating and cooling — Victorian Energy Upgrades

Eligible high-efficiency reverse-cycle air conditioners may attract a discount under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program. The discount is not a fixed amount and is not a percentage of the purchase price.

It is calculated from the number of Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) an approved upgrade creates, multiplied by the certificate value confirmed by the accredited provider at the time. That depends on the approved product, the activity scenario, the current certificate factor and the provider’s valuation. For this reason NRGPAL does not display a standard VEU discount, and any figure given before provider verification is an estimate only.

Victorian Energy Upgrades — program acknowledgement

Where you enquire about a VEU upgrade, you will be asked to acknowledge the following.

I acknowledge that I am requesting information about an energy upgrade that may be eligible for a discount under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program.

I understand that the discount is subject to program eligibility, approved products, installation requirements and verification by an accredited provider. I understand that I will receive the applicable VEU consumer factsheet and relevant information before agreeing to undertake the upgrade.

I understand that the discount shown in an estimate is not a guarantee of the final discount or certificate value.

How an amount becomes final

Every figure moves through the same sequence. An indicative estimate is produced from the information you give us. Your eligibility is then assessed by the program administrator or accredited provider, not by NRGPAL. The final amount is confirmed in your written quotation together with any program documentation, before installation is agreed.

Until that final step, any amount you have seen — on this site, in an email, or in conversation — is indicative and pending verification.

How we work with accredited providers

Under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program NRGPAL is a scheme participant. That means we carry out work on behalf of accredited businesses rather than creating energy efficiency certificates ourselves. The code of conduct requires us to tell you which accredited provider creates the certificates for your job, and we do that on our VEU Consumer Information page.

For federal solar and battery certificates (STCs) we likewise work through a registered agent rather than creating them ourselves.

NRGPAL PTY LTD (ABN 43 637 383 316) is an authorised retailer on Solar Victoria’s list, with a date of entry of 24 November 2023. Solar Victoria requires its authorised retailers to be signatories to the New Energy Tech Consumer Code, and installations under the Solar Homes rebate must use an authorised retailer.
